WORKSHOP ON CYBER SECURITY BY RENOWNED EXPERT DR. RAKSHIT TANDON ON 30
TH APRIL 2025
The workshop was held on Wednesday, 30 th April 2025 for parents
of Class V, VI X, XI and XII.
Dr Rakshit Tandon is our nation’s best Cyber Security Evangelist, National
Security Expert and Crime Investigator and is a pioneer in safeguarding
young and vulnerable students to ensure that they are protected online.
The topics addressed during the workshop covered a wide range of concerns
that we have for our students from, safety and security, Cyber Parenting,
types of threats for children, control, device protection, balanced digital
diet, Cyber Hygiene, cyber security in business and professional world,
implications of flouting cyber laws and redressals and support for threats.
Dr Tandon’s mission is to educate parents so that they may protect their
impressionable children.
The sessions were tailored exclusively for parents specifically for the age
groups.
The Principal addressed the parents urging them to take cognizance of the
vulnerability of their wards and cooperate with the school’s untiring
efforts to protect them from online dangers and falling prey to substance
abuse like vaping, cyber bullying and addiction to gaming and the social
media and also made them aware of the far reaching consequences of digital
footprints.
CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP FOR THE PARENTS AND STUDENTS OF CLASSES X
AND XI ON SATURDAY, 3RD MAY 2025
The school organized a Career Counselling Workshop on Saturday,3rd May 2025
for the parents and students of Classes X and XI. The workshop was conducted
by the renowned and celebrated expert Ms. Neha Wahi in the Nelson Memorial
Auditorium.
The Principal addressed the parents urging them to help their ward to select
the stream in accordance with the aptitude, interest and capability of their
ward. They were also caution we about the pitfalls of following the trend of
sending their ward to dummy schools.
Ms. Neha Wahi, an accomplished and celebrated Career Counsellor, author,
psychologist, trainer and social worker has won many awards in the myriad
roles that she has donned. With 21 years of experience in the education
sector she has mentored more than one lakh students, their parents and
educationists in more than 2500 reputed schools across the country. Founder
Director of Cosmic Alchemy, Managing Partner of Woman with Wings (Women led
NGO), Podcaster & Youth Influencer, Neha has authored three books and
has conducted 1500 hours of Corporate Trainings. Neha takes great pride in
being an alumna of Somerville School NOIDA
The workshop was very informative and comprehensive information regarding
the latest career options and courses available in the various universities
and institutions was given. Many preconceived myth and misconceptions were
cleared.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT DRILL FOR STUDENTS OF CLASSES I-XII ON WEDNESDAY, 7
TH MAY 2025
Disaster Management conducted for Classes I to XII to prepare the students
for emergency responses to different categories. Drills were conducted to
evacuate the school building in case of natural calamities such and
earthquakes and fires. The other category if drills conducted for potential
hostile attacks. The drills featured air-raid sirens, orderly evacuation,
and safety training, designed to train students for emergencies
TWO BOARD EXAMINATION FOR CLASS X ON 20 TH NOVEMBER 2025
The Principal, Mrs. MN Arul Raj and all the teachers of Classes IX to XII
attended the webinar organised by the CBSE on 20 TH November
2025 at 10: 00a.m on the modalities and details of the conduct of the two
Board Examinations for Class X 2025-26. The webinar was streamed online
across the country and abroad on the YouTube Channel. It was an enlightening
and informative workshop.
WORKSHOP ON CYBER CRIME– ‘CYBER JAGRIT BHARAT –BUILDING A SAFE DIGITAL
FUTURE’ BY THE GAUTAM BUDDH NAGAR POLICE FORCE ON
15 TH OCTOBER
A cyber awareness session was organised by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police for
the students, with the objective of educating them about the safe and
responsible use of the internet. The session shed light on various cyber
threats, including phishing, identity theft, cyberbullying, and online
frauds.
The experts elaborated on practical safety measures, emphasised the
importance of maintaining strong digital hygiene, and urged students to
think critically before sharing personal information online. The workshop
proved to be highly informative and insightful, equipping students with
essential knowledge to safeguard themselves in the digital world.
PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA ON6 TH FEBRUARY
Pariksha Pe Charcha the annual nationwide interactive initiative where the
Prime Minister Mr. Narender Modi engages with students, teachers and parents
on examinations, life skills and well-being. It promotes stress-free
examinations, emotional resilience, and holistic development, aligning with
National Education Policy 2020’s experiential and conceptual learning
framework. The interaction encourages students to view exams positively,
promoting confidence, disciplined preparation, and resilience through the
‘Be a Warrior, Not a Worrier’ mindset. Our students participated in the live
streaming of the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha.
MODICARE WORKSHOP FROM 2 ND FEBRUARY 2026 TO 11 TH
FEBRUARY
As a part of continuing life skills education program, series of workshops
were held for classes iv- ix in the school premises. The NGO, Modicare
foundation was invited to held workshops and use their expertise to equip
the young minds with preventive measures to deal with the major challenges
of growing up. The workshops were held over a week’s period from 2
nd
February 2026 to 11 th February 2026. The topics of the workshop
were Growing up, Safe and Unsafe touch, Substance abuse, Bullying and Peer
pressure. The resource persons were Azhar Shah, Prachi Kannaujia, Rajesh
Kumar, Kishan Thapa and Mansi Verma.

MAY 23, 2019- A CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP ON THE VOCATION OF COMPANY SECRETARY
A workshop was organised on May 23,2019 for classes XI and XII on Career in Company
Secretary. The resource persons were CS Manish
Gupta(Central Council Member, ICSI and Company Secretary in Practice), CS Shivam
Rastogi (Chairman-NOIDA Chapter of ICSI and Company
Secretary in Practice), CS Kushal Kumar( Executive Officer of NOIDA Chapter of
ICSI). A detailed presentation on the course, content
and structure was made by CS Sonu Nahata (Officer of ICSI), CS Praveen Tiwary
(Company Secretary in Practice).
The workshop was a success with lot of apprehensions and doubts getting cleared.
JULY 3,2019-WORKSHOP ON ANTI ROMEO SQUAD –
The workshop was conducted by Mrs M.N. Arul Raj (Principal, Somerville School, NOIDA
) for the girls of classes IX -XII .The Principal
counselled them to be vigilant about what they post and the people they interact
with on the internet through social media sites, that
they should be cautious on such sites for their own safety. They were advised to be
prudent in the way they dress and behave.
The girls were also asked to fill the forms sent by the ANTI ROMEO SQUAD
JULY 23,2019 -WORKSHOP ON INCOME TAX FOR STUDENTS OF CLASSES VIII AND IX
On the occasion of Income Tax Day a series of events were held on July 23, 2019.
Students of Classes VIII and IX attended an interactive
workshop conducted by Mr. Purnendu, an Income Tax Officer from the Income Tax
Department. The students were shown a power point presentation
on the history of taxes.
Students were informed about the importance of paying taxes and how a nation develops
with the help of direct and indirect taxes.
This was followed by On-the-spot essay writing and poster making competitions on the
topic ‘The Role and Strength of the Income Tax
Department in Nation Building.’
The students whose entries were adjudged the Best 5 entries in each category were
felicitated in a special ceremony in the IT Office on
July 24,2019 . In the essay writing competition the efforts of Shruti Kaushik IX F,
Managya Sinha VIII C, N. Sai Siddhartha IX F, Akhil
Dhyani VIII A, Aditya Singh IX C were applauded and in the poster making competition
Poorna Dwivedi IX C, Mohammad Arsh Khan IX B,
Shaswati Mazumdar IX G, Sukriti Jain IX F and Anushka Mishra IX E were felicitated.
AUGUST 26,2019 :GERMAN WORKSHOP
The German students of class VIII were invited to watch the theatre performance by '
Die Mimosen '.
The play titled ' Die Geschichte von Josehine und die Brüde des Windes ' was hosted
by LOTUS VALLEY
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, NOIDA. The play was based on the importance of five elements -
water, fire , earth , air and ether.
After the enactment the actors of the play (Stephanie Siebers and Kai Meister)
interacted with the students from various schools who were present there.
It was an enriching and entertaining experience and the students also enhanced their
knowledge of the German Langauge.
AUGUST 29,2019 -FIT INDIA MOVEMENT
Students witnessed the launch ceremony of the FIT India movement 2019. The live event
was telecast through the smart TVs in the classrooms.
Students were encouraged to be a part of this movement. The objective of this
movement was to sensitise the youth towards their
health and fitness. The students were enlightened by the inspiring words of our
Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The Principal, staff and students took the pledge to make India a fit nation.
OCTOBER 14, 2019–COMMERCE WORKSHOP
A career counselling session for students of the Class XI commerce stream was
organised on 14 October 2019. Two counsellors Mr Saurabh
Maheshwari and Ms Ipshika from the Institution Edumentor had come to guide the
students and share their own experiences. The session was
initiated with a quiz to evoke interest and harness the attention of the students
.This was followed by a discussion on various
courses/ colleges available after class XII viz. B.com, BMS, BBA, BBE, IPM, BFIA
etc.
The session concluded with a small sample test which was framed on the lines of
various entrance tests.
OCTOBER 15, 2019- TRIP TO THE NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE
The Biology students of Class XI and XII went for an excursion to the National
Science Centre Pragati Maidan along with Mr Subir Chakravorty
and Mr.Anand. They attended a workshop on the Effects of Antibiotics and also
learned how antibiotics help in fighting various diseases.
The students enjoyed the visit to NSC and learned a lot by performing experiments
themselves.
OCTOBER 25, 2019 –WORKSHOP ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING
A workshop for the students of class X-XII on Artificial intelligence and Machine
learning was conducted by Ms Neha Wahi and Anubhav Seth
from Career Launcher. The concept of Artificial intelligence and neural networks was
introduced and the applications of AI were discussed.
Students found the workshop very fruitful.
NOVEMBER 13-15 : WORKSHOP ON BULLYING AND PEER PRESSURE
A workshop for the students of classes VI -VIII and X was organised in the school by
Modicare accentuating the increasing instances
of bullying and peer pressure. Students were counselled on how to be on guard at all
times and not become a victim of the same.
NOVEMBER 16, 2019:WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS BY MRS.M.N ARUL RAJ
A workshop for the parents of the students of Class X and XII was conducted by Mrs M
N Arul Raj, the Principal of Somerville school NOIDA
on Saturday, the 16th of November 2019 in the Nelson Memorial Auditorium. The
Principal apprised the parents of the new rules and
regulations issued by the CBSE regarding Internal assessment /Practical and Project
Work for the CBSE Exam 2019-2020.
The parents were shown samples of careless and sub-standard work submitted by the
students. They were told about the lack of commitment,
sincerity and conscientiousness that many students display towards their work. The
parents were also informed that the students will be
given the marks they deserve in their internal assessment.
The parents were urged to cooperate with the teachers to ensure that the students of
Class X and XII submit their portfolios,
assignments for multiple assessment, project work and practical files by the 10th of
December.
NOVEMBER 17, 2019- WORKSHOP ON 'EAT RIGHT'
Somerville School NOIDA organised a Workshop on 'Eat Right' on November 17, 2019 for
the students of classes VI to VIII. The resource persons
were from the FSSAI Gautam Buddh Nagar. They spoke about healthy food versus junk
food and the ill effects of junk food.
The students were informed about the nutritional information that must be read and
understood well before buying any food product.
The concept of the Healthy food pyramid was discussed which comprises of safe and
nutritious food, fortified food and hygiene. The
students were told about different super foods like apple, red lentil, Indian
gooseberry, millets etc. They learnt about 7c's like clean,
check, cross contamination, cover etc. An interesting video on AAJ SE THODA KAM was
shown to encourage the children to reduce the intake of
sugar, salt and junk food.
NOVEMBER 21, 2019-WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR CLASS X STUDENTS
The resource person Mr Ashok Mishra spoke about the reasons of stress, different
kinds of stress and the coping mechanism we need
to develop to deal with stress.
Dr Tanu Ahuja, Trainer ,IIMT Group of colleges Personality Development and Mr Anand
Mishra Marketing Officer of IIMT also participated in the session.
17 DECEMBER 2019 –FIRE FIGHTING DRILL FOR THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI AND XII
Officials from the Police Department and Fire Brigade conducted a fire fighting drill
for the students of class XI and XII in the play
field on 17 December 2019.They demonstrated how to douse a fire with a fire
extinguisher. The students were taught how to unlock the
cylinder of a fire extinguisher.
The students were encouraged to volunteer and demonstrate how to extinguish fire
thereby enabling them to overcome their fear of fire.
They were also told not to panic but use their presence of mind in case of a
disaster.
The workshop was very impactful and the students and teachers participated
enthusiastically as they came forward to extinguish the fire.
It was a very educative and enriching workshop.
JANUARY 14, 2020 –WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT
A workshop on stress management was conducted by the District Inspector of Schools
for classes VII to IX at Somerville School NOIDA on
the 14th of January 2020. The resource persons had come from Oasis Society for
Social, Cultural and Educational Development. It was a
very informative workshop wherein the speaker Dr. Sadaf gave valuable tips on how to
get rid of stress before exams. She explained what
is stress and how stress can be the result of internal and external pressure.
Several suggestions were given for reducing stress like finding a support system,
changing one’s attitude, being realistic, getting organized and taking charge.
It was an interactive session with enthusiastic participation from students who were
encouraged by the speaker to ask questions if they had any.
JANUARY 20, 2020 –PLEDGE ON NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY - BETI BACHAO
On 20 January 2020 around eleven hundred students of Classes VI to IX and XI of
Somerville School NOIDA took a pledge on the occasion of
National Girl Child Day to give respect to women ,to fight against exploitation,
female foeticide, child marriage and to ensure that the
girl child is given opportunities to acquire education and play a proactive role in
the progress of women which will propel the progress of
the nation .
JANUARY 20, 2020– WORKSHOP FOR IX AND XI ON INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
A workshop on how to prepare for entry into the undergraduate and postgraduate level
in international universities was conducted by Mr Darshit
Shah, Deputy Manager (Marketing) and Mr Aamir Abbas, Asst. Manager (Senior Academic
Counsellor), SFS Scholarship Facilitation. The students
were counselled to develop their personality and take part in extracurricular
activities. It was as informative and enriching workshop with
an active participation from students.
20 JANUARY 2020–PARIKSHA PAR CHARCHA
On 20 January 2020 twelve hundred students of Somerville School NOIDA of Classes VI
to VIII and Class IX and XI watched the live telecast of Pariksha
Par Charcha by the honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji from 11a.m to
1p.m. The live telecast was projected on a large screen in the
school auditorium. The students listened with rapt attention as the honourable Prime
Minister told them that it is always a delight to connect
with India’s youth.
The Prime Minister reached out to children all across India and answered the
questions posed by the students from every corner of the Nation. He
further counselled the children to do their duties, to use technology wisely and not
to be enslaved by it.
The school had participated in the essay writing competition and had posted a hundred
and fifty essays and questions on Pariksha Par Charcha. Arnav
Kakkar, a class X student from the school was invited to the Talkatora Stadium to
attend the programme which was watched by twelve hundred students
of Classes VI to VIII, IX and XI from 11a.m to 1p.m in the school auditorium.
21 JANUARY 2020–EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT
Somerville School NOIDA celebrated Statehood day of Meghalaya under the CBSE
programme of EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT on January 21, 2020
titled ‘Know your Partnering States -Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya’.
The programme was conducted in the morning assembly by the students of class VI to
VIII. The assembly included an introduction to Meghalaya's
economy, agriculture, scenic beauty and cultural heritage in the form of dance and
music. A beautiful Khasi folk dance was showcased. Children
wore the traditional Khasi dress and traditional Khasi jewellery. A Garo folk song
was sung by the Indian Music Choir.
The students also presented news and the thought of the day in English and Bengali.
In the end, the Unity pledge was administered by the
Principal Mrs.M.N. Arul Raj and Mrs. Sharmila Chakraborty in English and Bengali
respectively. This was a small effort towards promoting
culture and language of our two partnering states.
The assembly was conducted by Mrs Sadhna Rathore and Miss Irene John.

The workshop was organised in Mayoor School, NOIDA on May 4, 2019 . the resource

MAY 14, 2019 -CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP (FOR PROSPECTIVE RESOURCE PERSON)
A Capacity Building workshop (for prospective Resource Person) was organised by the
CBSE in its Regional Office at Patparganj from May14, 2019
to May 16,2019). The Resource Persons for the same were Mrs Ipshita Mukherjee
(Master Trainer in CBSE), Mr Trilok Singh Bisht( Principal, DPS ,
Vasundhara- CBSE Resource Person for Panchkula and Dehradoon region).
The curriculum of class X Mathematics was also taken up for discussion. The workshop
was attended by Mrs Priya Jain and Mr Rajiv Sati.
JULY 12, 2019 -CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR SKILL EDUCATION
Capacity Building workshop by the CBSE for vocational skills was organised at ASN Sr
Sec School on 12 July 2019. The resource persons were Mrs
Prajakta, Mrs Lisa Puri, Mrs Komal Arora.
It was an orientation workshop wherein the new IT curriculum introduced for classes
IX and X was discussed. It was attended by our Computer teachers Ms Reena Sharma and
Ms Radhika Shankar.
AUGUST 2 AND 3, 2019- WORKSHOP ON THE USE OF SMART BOARD
A workshop on how to use the smart board and various modules for teaching to fulfil
the objectives of learning was conducted by personnel from Tata Edge on August 2 and
August 3 for middle and senior school teachers respectively. Demo sessions were held
to explain the nuances of technology aided learning.
AUGUST 3, 2019- WORKSHOP ON TEACHERS’ RAPPORT WITH THE STUDENTS (NIE)
The workshop was organised in the school auditorium on August 3, 2019. It was
conducted by Ms Pooja Kishore wherein she discussed the issues related to middle
school children. The teachers were goaded to form a bond with children and address
their grievances – emotional or otherwise. It was an interactive session and was
attended by the middle school teachers.
AUGUST 22, 2019 –WORKSHOP FOR SENIOR TEACHERS - BY TATA EDGE - TO PREPARE
STUDENTS FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS
The officials from Tata Edge conducted the workshop. The teachers were explained
various modules which can be shown to students who are preparing for competitive
examinations. This workshop was attended by all the Senior school teachers .
SEPTEMBER 2, 2019 : WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS BY TATA EDGE
A workshop was conducted by Tata Edge on how their modules can be incorporated in the
teaching of various subjects. Teachers of all the subjects attended the workshop.
CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP (PHYSICS- CLASS XII)
Capacity building workshop for Physics (class XII) was conducted in Indus Valley
School, NOIDA by Dr Neeraj wherein new and innovative teaching techniques of Physics
were discussed. Ms Anjula Kainth , PGT Physics , attended the workshop.
SEPTEMBER7, 2019 – WORKSHOP BY ARYA PUBLICATION
Workshop by Arya Publication was conducted by Dr D K Goel to discuss the updated
curriculum and change in question paper pattern in Accountancy for Board
Examination. The new add ons -1 mark questions were discussed at length. Ms Parul
Dar , PGT Commerce from the school attended the workshop.
OCTOBER 3, 2019-CBSE- ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
A Workshop on Artificial Intelligence by CBSE was conducted at Gurukul School,
Ghaziabad by Mr Somay from October 3, 2010 to October 5, 2019. It was attended by Ms
Vandana Sharma, PGT Computer Science.
OCTOBER 19, 2019- CBSE – ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
A Workshop on Artificial Intelligence was organised in Bal Bharti School, NOIDA from
October 19 to October 21, 2019 which was attended by our Computer teachers, Ms Reena
Sharma and Ms Radhika Shankar.
JANUARY 10 AND 11, 2020 -CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ENGLISH CORE (CLASS XII)
A two day Capacity Building Programme on English for Senior Secondary teachers was
held at St Thomas School , Indirapuram on January 10 and January 11, 2019. It was
attended by 42 teachers from different schools of Delhi NCR. The workshop was
conducted by Mrs Abha Jha , Head of Department, English at Vikas Bharti Public ,
Rohini and Mrs Savita Arora , Principal, Bal Bharti Public School, Swasthya Vihar
both veterans in the field of teaching of English.
The workshop focused on the challenging areas of teaching English suggesting ways to
enhance students’ reading, writing , listening and speaking
skills and using VARK (visual, auditory, reading, kinesthetic) test to gauge the
learning technique of a student. The resource person Mrs Abha
Jha accentuated the need of experiential learning which includes elements such as
concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract
conceptualization and active experimentation. The theme and essence of the
literature texts in the curriculum were also discussed.
The workshop stimulated the professional selves of teachers making them more
confident, empowered sensitive and aware facilitators of English language and
literature. Certificates were distributed to the teachers at the end of the
workshop. Ms Bhawana Pant, PGT English from our school attended the workshop.
JANUARY 10, 2020 –CBSE WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS ON CORRECTION
A CBSE workshop on how Evaluation of Board Examination Answer Papers was organised in
the Computer lab of the school wherein an audio by the CBSE official was played. It

FEBRUARY 6, 2020: WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS
A Workshop on healthy food propagating the intake of millets was organised for the
teachers of Somerville School, NOIDA on 6th Feb 2020 at 2:30 pm. The resource person
was Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyay who spoke about the benefits of millets. She demonstrated
some easy recipes like salad, risotto and pulao. Teachers actively participated in
the interaction and gained knowledge about this lesser known grain and its nutrient
value.
WORKSHOP BY MRS VIBHA NATH, SCHOOL COUNSELLOR ON AWARENESS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
OF WOMEN AT THE WORKPLACE AT SOMERVILLE SCHOOL NOIDA
Mrs. Vibha Nath, Psychologist and Counsellor as well as a member of the Internal
Complaints Committee conducted a workshop on Awareness of Sexual Harassment of Women
at the Workplace for the Teaching Staff of Somerville School NOIDA.
The teachers were told that the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention,
Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) was enacted as a comprehensive
legislation to provide a safe, secure and enabling environment, free from sexual
harassment to every woman. The Indian Constitution ensures a person’s right to equal
protection under the law, to live a life free from discrimination on any ground and
to protection of life and personal liberty.
The lady employees were told that a safe workplace is a woman’s legal right. Sexual
harassment constitutes a gross violation of women's right to equality and dignity.
The Counsellor informed the teachers that the first step to prevention is
recognition.
The Principal Mrs M.N Arul Raj is the Chairperson of the Internal Complaints
Committee and is committed to create a workplace that is equitable and safe. The
teachers were assured that as the Head of the Institution, Ma’am will play a key
role in the obliteration of even the smallest cases of sexual harassment at the
workplace and shall warrant a secure place for women employees. They were informed
that the Internal Complaints Committee would receive complaints, as well as inquire
into and make recommendations to the employer on the action required pursuant to its
inquiry of such a complaint.
