Somerville School, NOIDA celebrated its Senior Sports Day on 15th November 2025 with immense excitement, colour, and a strong spirit of healthy competition. The event opened with a welcome dance invoking the five elements of the cosmos. The Principal Mrs M N Arul Raj took the salute and the contingents of the Four Houses marched forward in impeccable synchrony and unison. The Head Boy, Mukund Bansal and the Head Girl, Kripaa Bhardwaj took the oath on behalf of all the competitors.
Students of Classes VI and VII kicked off the programme with a lively aerobics performance set to peppy, upbeat songs. Their synchronised movements and bright expressions immediately lifted the atmosphere. They also captivated the audience with their well-coordinated martial arts display.
This was followed by a graceful yoga presentation by Class VIII, where students demonstrated strength, flexibility and balance through a series of well-coordinated asanas, showcasing the importance of mindfulness and physical well-being.
Adding to the vibrancy of the day, students of Classes IX and XI presented yet another energetic aerobics routine, impressing the audience with their agility and rhythm. A major highlight of the programme was the disciplined March Past led by the students of Classes X and XII.
In addition to these performances, the sports field buzzed with excitement during the athletic events. 576 athletes competed in a range of track races, including the 100m, 200m and 400m sprints, along with several relay races that drew loud cheers from their parents and family.
Each and every student of Classes VI and XII participated in the drills, and races enthusiastically making it a grand success.
The Senior Sports Day concluded on a high note, celebrating not just victories, but also participation, effort and the joy of coming together as a school community.
